Private Learn to Curl Sessions
2024-2025 Curling Season (October-March)

If you or your organization is interested in a private learn to curl session, please email AlbanyCurlingEvents@gmail.com with the following information:

=         Your name/organization name

=         Contact information (email, phone, and mailing address)

=         Requested event date including start and end times

=         The total number of expected participants


Cost:  A private Learn to Curl session at the Albany Curling Club is three hours long.  Session fees start at $500 which includes up to 8 participants, plus $50 per person for additional participants up to a maximum of 16 participants.  This includes use of Equipment, Instructions, Ice Rental and use of the Warm Room and locker rooms.  

General Information:  Participants should wear warm, loose-fitting clothing (no jeans), and bring a clean pair of sneakers.  Volunteer instructors will teach participants the basics of curling in a safe and fun environment.  

Restrictions:  For safety and due to our limited volunteer pool, private Learn to Curl sessions are intended for adults only and can accommodate a maximum of 16 participants.  

Availability:  Session offerings are limited to ice and volunteer availability - generally Tuesday and Friday afternoons during the curling season (Oct-Mar) starting no earlier than noon and ending no later than 5pm.  

Typical Timeline:

-Upon arrival, sign in and complete release forms, and get fitted for grippers to wear on the ice. 

-Warm Room introduction and instructions, club safety and rules. Set up teams and assign ice sheets. 

-On ice curling instructions include:

           -ice safety;

-sweeping and stone delivery techniques;

           -a brief curling match with instructors’ guidance and assistance. 

-Post-game discussion with instructors, return equipment, and social time in the Warm Room. 

Food:  You may bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages or order from a local restaurant for delivery to the Club, at your expense. Use of standard kitchen supplies (plates, cups, utensils, napkins) is included upon request.  

Bar:  Cash bar is available upon request.  All alcoholic beverages must be purchased and consumed in the Club. 

Deposit:  A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve ice time. Additional time for Warm Room use beyond the three hour session will be at a cost of $50 per hour. The balance of payment is due at the start of your program.
